GYPSUM SKIMMING PLASTER 10/40KG

Add 4 – 5 (preferably 4.2) litres of water to a suitable clean mixing container. Mix thoroughly with a suitable mixer to a consistent creamy slurry.

A 40kg bag of Tacktile Gypsum Skimming Plaster covers approximately 26m² at 3mm thick or approximately 12m² at 6mm thick.

A 10kg bucket covers approximately 6.5m² at  3mm thick and 3m² at 6mm thick.

Tacktile Gypsum Skimming Plaster is suitable on bricks, plasterboard, ceilings and concrete and for indoor use only and should not be applied outdoors.

Let the sand cement surface dry, clean the surface, and kill suction if necessary by sprinkling water onto the surface.

Tacktile Gypsum Skimming Plaster begins to set within 50 minutes, allowing you to float the surface. It typically dries within an hour, depending on conditions like temperature and humidity.

Yes, once the plaster has dried, it provides a smooth, pure white surface that is ready for painting.

It is not required to use any bonding liquid before applying Tacktile Gypsum Skimming Plaster.

You should wait until your skimmed wall is completely dry before painting. Typically, this takes at least 3 days under good conditions, but it may take up to a few weeks depending on the room’s humidity and temperature. The best indicator is to check if the wall has a uniform, light color. Darker patches indicate moisture is still present.

Key points to remember:

  • Check for dryness: Ensure the plaster is fully dry before painting. No damp patches or darker areas should remain on the wall.
  • Mist coat: Once dry, apply a mist coat, a diluted paint mixture, to help the paint adhere properly.
  • Temperature and humidity: Warmer temperatures and lower humidity speeds up the drying process.
  • Potential issues: Avoid painting on wet plaster, as it can lead to peeling and cracking paint over time.

SELF LEVELLING SCREEDS PRO/DIY/RAPID

Tacktile Self Levelling Screed is designed to create a smooth, level floor surface, ideal for preparing uneven floors before laying tiles, vinyl, carpet, or other floor coverings. Suitable for both DIY and professional applications.

A 20kg bag will cover approximately 3.6m² at an average of 3mm thickness. This is when applied onto a relatively smooth substrate.

Add 20kg of Tacktile Self Levelling Screed into 4.4 Litres of clean cold water.

10 – 15 minutes of useability. If the product thickens, DO NOT ADD MORE WATER – rather stir thoroughly to extend pot life.

Tacktile Self Levelling Screed can be applied 3mm up to 10mm in a single operation.

For thicker applications, a coat of Tacktile Bonding liquid should be applied and allowed to dry before applied the next layer of screed.

Once Tacktile Self Levelling Screed has fully dried and cured (usually 24-48 hours), floor coverings such as tiles, vinyl, or carpet can be applied. Always ensure the surface is dry and smooth before applying any flooring materials.

Yes, once Tacktile Self Levelling Screed has dried it can be walked on. For the best results, allow 24-48 hours for full curing before applying floor coverings.

For our Rapid set it is ready to walk on in just 4 Hours.
